Lucy Jones
Lucy gained a BA in Film, Photography and Media from University of Leeds before completing a short course in Screenwriting at MetFilm School in London. Raised in an ex-mining town outside of Leeds, Lucy has since worked within a creative capacity in Leeds, London and New York, for a number of employers. These range to include digital marketing agencies, a major record label, the Civil Service, a leading soap opera and a broadcast media production company. Gaining a variety of creative skills and an interesting perspective along the way, she has recently become freelance with the hopes of pursuing filmmaking as a long-term career.
She is both a talented Editor and an experienced Camera Assistant or Operator, excited by the entire storytelling process from ideation to execution. By working occasionally for MetFilm’s Northern campus as a Teaching Assistant or within the kit room, Lucy remains rooted within the goings on of the industry, while having more time to spend writing scripts or working on set.
Sitting comfortably on the Gen Z / Millennial cusp, Lucy lives and breathes both the big screen and the small screen, with a strong understanding of social media and popular culture. Her next project will include producing a short queer film, but she is otherwise available for all kinds of storytelling work.
